For a long time people have been interested in the possibility of using Bluetooth to determine the location or position of an object relative to another, for example detecting how close a person's smartphone is to a beacon.
With Bluetooth Low Energy V4.x this was only possible using RSSI (Received Signal Strength) and it was notoriously unreliable.
However, Bluetooth 5 has introduced some new features which can improve the situation
